It didn't go wrong. It just went different.
I had a thinking lunch today. Here are the philosophical musings I had as I munched on my veggie panini:
It all started with the earworm for the day: You Can't Always Get What you Want by The Rolling Stones. With all due respect, I disagree with Mick, et al. I believe you can get what you want. You just can't always get everything right now. Some things take more work or more time than others. And, of course, in order to get what you want, you have to figure out what it is that you do want. Start out with a good bit of brainstorming and don't limit yourself with practicality or the "shoulds" and "should nots". Just write it all down as it comes to you. Then set priorities on what you want. Set goals and intermediate steps to get what you want, then get moving and get fired up. Once you're on your way, you will need to periodically take a step back and evaluate where on the journey you are so you can make course corrections (or to make goal and target adjustments if what you want has changed).
Things don't necessarily go wrong when they don't go according to plan or meet an expectation. Sometimes they just go different. And that's ok.
