Birthday Weekend!
No big trip or celebration this year, just a quiet weekend at home. The most exciting thing I did was use some spray foam to fill up some gaps in my house. I was going to finally finish the painting job in the kitchen, but with the outside temperature being in the teens, I was worried the exterior wall and trim might be too cool for good paint performance. It won't hurt to wait until later in the week when temperatures are warmer. I used the non-painting time to clean the house, tidy up the computer and to knit. I also finally signed up for NetFlix so I can stream movies on the computer. My evening's entertainment was watching Up on DVD.
Today's big fun was spending most of the day in my pajamas, streaming a movie to my computer and then going out to see Sherlock Holmes at the theater. (Yes, I did bathe first.) It was a good movie though I wasn't terribly pleased with how the fight scenes were filmed. I dislike choppy, blurry action since it seems to be used as a cover for bad fight work and it can, in large doses, cause a bit of motion sickness. I hope there are sequels in the works. Robert Downey, Jr. and Jude Law did well together as Holmes and Watson. I'd like to see them reprise the roles.
All in all, it was a relaxing weekend. I've got a long list of things to get done around the house in the coming weeks. I should start thinking about the list of things to do outside the house for when the weather warms up this spring. But that can wait a few more days....
